Olives, a topic that’s become so divisive

They catch yeses or no’s - turning diners’ decisive

a savory treat from the branches and soil

that i choose not to eat unless formed into oil

they’re a puzzling fruit, introducing a meal

With an etiquette error that I’d like to appeal

should we not “fake the cough” into a napkin and spit

As our way to remove a now-used olive pit?
